Graphic icons appeal to me for their elegant and powerful ability to communicate with minimal work. The challenge to find the right balance between 'not enough' and 'too much' is always a test of the designer's skill.

These examples show a range of work, from very simple designs (the bunny) to complex visuals like the column capital (showing form, texture, depth) and city names incorporating landmark buildings.
